Tell me

Scheduled Release: March 20th, 2020.

An upbeat guitar-driven pop track, ‘Tell Me’ is inspired by an unexpected romantic encounter. Heartfelt yet hesitant, the song demonstrates sleek production and a memorable, sing-a-long chorus — staples of Lydia Ford’s music.

This will be her first release of 2020 following her appearance on both Hot Press and Ticketmaster.ie “Hot for 2020” lists. Lydia will also play a headline show upstairs in Whelan’s on April 17th, in association with MCD.

Tell Me - Lydia Ford
00:00 / 00:00

Lydia Ford is a pop artist originally from Co. Mayo, in Ireland. At the age of 9 she picked up the guitar, inspired mainly by her adoration of pop-punk star Avril Lavigne. From there, she began writing and developing her own songs.

Taking inspiration from the production of acts like Sigrid, Julia Michaels and Lauv, Lydia incorporates elements of slick electronic production and gritty guitars. She currently records, produces and releases her music independently, collaborating with producers in Berlin, London, Tokyo and the US. She recently performed at We’ve Only Just Begun Festival, Ireland Music Week and Other Voices.

Her music has been played across various radio stations in Ireland, with two tracks as ‘Song of the Week’ on TodayFm and one track as ‘Song of the Week’ on 2fm in the past year alone. Spotify playlisting includes New Music Friday UK, A Breath of Fresh ÉIRE and Poptronix.

2020 is set to be an even bigger year for the pop artist as she has been featured as one of Ticketmaster’s “New Picks for 2020”. Lydia’s first single of the year is scheduled for a March release and she will play a headline show upstairs in Whelan’s on April 17th, in association with MCD.
